Simatic 505 controllers are supported by a complete range of digital, analog and intelligent I/O modules.

What about communication with other Simatic S7 controllers? No problem.

The 505 system communicates via Ethernet and the CPU's have built-in support for 12 Mbps PROFIBUS-DP I/O. This provides connectivity to I/O from other SIMATIC product lines as well as to drives and third-party I/O.

APT (Application Productivity Tool) software makes large process control systems maintainable through use of SFC and CFC structures. Complex math functions are made a snap by direct editing of code in SFC steps or CFB's.

The 505 system communicates with remote or distributed I/O racks (bases) using a 1 Mbps coaxial or twisted-pair cable. As a result, I/O racks (bases) can be located up to 15,000 ft. from the controller, eliminating the need for multiple cable runs and reducing installation costs.
